Supply Chain S&OE Excellence Lead
Huntsman is seeking a Supply Chain Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) Excellence Lead supporting regionally within the Polyurethanes Division located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the PU Global Supply Chain Excellence Sr Manager in the Global Supply Chain leadership team.
The Supply Chain S&OE Excellence Lead is responsible for organizing, leading, and enabling planning process excellence across all elements of the Sales & Operations Execution process within the Americas S&OE and Supply Chain organizations. The ideal candidate brings strong planning excellence leadership, SAP and digital enablement expertise, and strong business acumen, with a proven ability to drive measurable performance improvements through process simplification, standardization, and technology enablement. Success in this role requires the ability to influence across functions, challenge the status quo, and drive sustainable change across the full value chain.
Lead the application of Intelligent Lean, process excellence methodologies, and digital/automation frameworks to evaluate core S&OE and operational activities, identifying and eliminating non–value-added work while improving end-to-end performance.
Develop and deliver breakthrough performance improvements by leveraging industry best practices, innovation, analytics, and emerging technologies.
Drive and lead S&OE digitization initiatives, ensuring strong alignment between business processes, system capabilities, and performance outcomes.
Define current-state processes and capabilities, assess gaps in process, technology, and talent, and support the design and implementation of the future-state S&OE operating model.
Ensure a consistent and standardized approach aligned with the Global Supply Chain and S&OE Excellence strategy, vision, and governance model.
Own Supply Planning performance KPIs enabled through SAP, including plan adherence, schedule stability, inventory health, and customer service outcomes, and drive corrective actions where performance gaps exist.
Inspire action and alignment through influence, strong relationships, and change leadership, rather than formal authority.
Lead and develop Supply Planning capabilities through matrix leadership, including coaching planners, defining standard work, building training materials, and raising overall planning maturity across the region.
Drive measurable and sustainable improvements through influence, training, coaching, and mentoring of teams across regions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Candidates must be willing to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our office located in AFZ, Heredia. Additional office days may be required as needed or during corporate visits.
Education required
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience required
5+ years of supply chain planning experience, including Supply and Demand Planning expertise.
Strong proficiency in SAP ECC within the PP (Production Planning) and MM (Materials Management) modules, including planning master data elements.
English C1 or C2.
A higher degree, such as a Master’s.
APICS/ASCM or similar certification.
Familiarity with analytics tools (Power BI, SQL).
While not always required, experience in the specialty chemicals industry can be beneficial, particularly in understanding the specific challenges and opportunities of the industry.
