Position Overview:
The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for developing accurate, data-driven forecasts to support procurement, supply planning, and product replenishment for Dutch Bros shops, our distributors, and suppliers. This role will develop demand plans, assess current practices, define and implement future-state processes and tools, and establish cross-functional alignment—considering seasonality, regional trends, marketing initiatives, and promotional activity. By implementing effective demand planning practices, this person will optimize planning, purchasing, and inventory to efficiently support our shops and customers.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics or related field 

  • 5+ years of experience in demand planning, ideally in QSR, food service, or retail

  • Demonstrated success in developing forecasts using promotional, seasonal, location-based, and marketing inputs. 

  • Experience with demand planning tools including selection and implementation.

  • Advanced analytical skills: BI/reporting tool experience preferred. 

  • Ability to interpret complex datasets and turn them into action 

  • Strong cross-functional communication and influence skills 

  • Experience building from scratch and leading process improvement

  • Teamwork and Stakeholder Engagement


Location Requirement: 
This role is located in Tempe, Arizona. This position is required to be in office 4 days per week (Mon-Thurs); Fridays are optional remote work days.

Key Result Areas (KRAs):

 Maintain Vendor Forecasts:

  • Develop and maintain 12–24 month vendor forecasts by region and/or distribution center

  • Establish relationship and communication channels with vendors to ensure alignment through seasons and business changes

  • Evaluate growth, regional demands, and supply chain factors to influence forecast planning

  • Identify key changes in forecasts to recommend corrective action and proactively address gaps

  • Drive accuracy on everyday items to produce supply forecasts for suppliers and distribution 

Process Development:

  • Assess current forecasting processes, tools, and capabilities; define and implement improvements to reach future-state best practices.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to assist in development of to-be vision of demand planning 

  • Work cross functionally to continuously improve processes to drive increased alignment and accuracy 

Ad Hoc Planning and Analysis

  • Develop actionable reporting and dashboarding to drive visibility to necessary areas of the business

  • Build and maintain regional evaluation of LTOs to better integrate into future planning strategies

  • Lead real time reporting of current promotions to ensure preparedness across planning, distribution, assurance, procurement, and S&OP stakeholders

  • Evaluate New Shop Openings (NSO) to ensure performance is in line with expectations and provide actionable insights to the team

  • Partner with NSO team to continuously improve Grand Openings orders to evaluate risk while improving the experience for the field

  • Ad Hoc planning and analysis as needs of internal, and external, partners evolve

Physical Requirements:

  • In-Office Environment: Must be able to work in a busy, crowded, and loud office with frequent distractions and interruptions

  • Must be able to collaborate in-person with occasional impromptu in-person meetings 

  • Office Conditions: Adaptability to typical office conditions, which may include exposure to air conditioning, heating, artificial lighting, and varying noise levels

  • Mobility: Ability to sit, stand, reach, twist, stretch, and work at a desk for long stretches.  Must be able to occasionally move or lift office items up to 25 pounds

  • Hearing Requirements: Hearing must be sufficient or correctable to ensure clear understanding of spoken information, including participating in virtual meetings and phone calls. Use of hearing aids or other assistive devices is acceptable if needed.

  • Reading and Writing Proficiency: Ability to read and write in English is essential for processing documents, drafting reports, and following up on necessary actions. Proficiency in written communication is required to handle job-related tasks effectively.

  • Vision Requirements: Vision must be adequate or correctable to perform essential job duties, such as reading documents on a computer screen and using other visual tools. Use of corrective lenses or other measures to meet visual requirements is expected if needed.

  • Technology Proficiency: Must be proficient in operating a computer and other office productivity tools such as printers, scanners, and collaboration software. 

  • Effective Communication: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders via email, video conferencing, and other in office communication tools.
