Supplier Quality Engineering Manager

US-PA-Cheswick (EMD) Full time

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

The Supplier Quality Engineering Manager plays a key role in the Quality Department by managing the supplier quality engineers, source inspectors, and the associated supplier quality processes.   The candidate will be responsible for overseeing product and certification quality across the supply base and ensuring supplier evaluation and qualification.  

Salary: $113,900.00 - $164,500.00 ​ per year

Your Challenge:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve first time quality from suppliers
  • Hire, train, mentor, and develop Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Establish staffing and support plans for Supplier Quality Engineers
  • Maintain and improve supplier quality processes (cert review, AERM, QIPs, supplier procedure review, etc.)
  • Manage supplier evaluation, including quality processes and qualification
  • Provide management-level support for supplier visits as required
  • Coordinate group activities with project teams, sourcing, and receipt inspection
  • Support customer meetings, audits, and communications
  • Lead organizational improvement initiatives
  • Travel: 25-35%

What You Bring:

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
  • 5+ yeas of previous leadership/management experience 
  • Previous (supplier) quality experience
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering
  • Experience interfacing with customers and regulatory authorities
  • Experience with commercial nuclear and naval nuclear quality standards
  • Experience with corrective actions, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methods
  • Dealing with Ambiguity: Can decide and act without having the total picture
  • Innovation Management:  Is good at bringing the creative ideas of others to market
  • Problem Solving: Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • Customer Focus:  Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
