Supplier Quality Engineer II
How Will You Make an Impact?
As a Supplier Quality Engineer II at our Salt Lake City, UT facility, you will serve as a technical focal point for supplier quality across multiple programs. You will directly engage with manufacturers to resolve non‑conforming material issues, evaluate supplier performance, define inspection requirements, and drive corrective actions. Your work will help protect production continuity, ensure incoming quality, and strengthen supplier capability across Jabil’s supply base.

What Will You Do?
- Serve as the primary quality contact for commodity‑related supplier issues impacting manufacturing operations.
- Lead resolution of production‑critical supplier quality issues, ensuring effective and timely corrective actions.
- Act as owner of Inspection Plans and Inspection Methods, providing guidance to Receiving Inspection Auditors.
- Ensure ongoing supplier performance evaluation using data from Receiving Inspection, MRB, Customer Returns, SCAR systems, and customer workcell feedback.
- Report supplier performance internally, to suppliers, and to customers when applicable.
- Perform supplier audits and interface with Corporate SQE, as required.
- Develop and maintain inspection documentation used to perform component inspection per SAP Inspection Plans.
- Monitor and drive reduction of supplier PPM levels and support suppliers in achieving Dock‑to‑Stock certification per Jabil requirements.
- Support and influence supplier selection strategies to enable a capable, reusable supply base across customer programs and drive cost leverage.
- Proactively communicate supplier quality or manufacturability risks that could impact product cost or performance.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Comply with Jabil security policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How Will You Get Here?
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in Quality Engineering or Supplier Quality Engineering.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Technical & Functional Skills
- Strong understanding of supplier quality systems, inspection planning, corrective action, and audit processes.
- Experience working with SAP, supplier performance dashboards, and SCAR systems.
- Familiarity with dock‑to‑stock, PPM reduction strategies, and incoming quality controls.
- Ability to drive supplier accountability and continuous improvement.
Language & Communication
- Advanced PC skills, including proficiency with Jabil software systems.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, financial data, and regulatory information.
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries from customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong presentation skills for communication with management and external stakeholders.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate and interpret percentages, ratios, proportions, and statistical data.
- Working knowledge of algebra, geometry, probability, and basic statistical inference.
Reasoning & Problem Solving
- Ability to define complex problems, collect data, analyze root causes, and draw sound conclusions.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and manage multiple abstract and concrete variables simultaneously.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk; may occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
- Ability to work between office environments and the manufacturing floor.
- Frequent use of a computer monitor and written documentation required.
Work Environment
- Primary workstation is office‑based with daily interaction on the manufacturing floor.
- Noise levels range from low to moderate.
