Job Summary: You will serve as a BRANCH MANAGER in the SURFACE LAUNCH MISSILE DIVISION (E80), SENSORS WEAPONS & LAUNCHERS DEPARTMENT of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Seal Beach, CA.

Major Duties:

  • You will provide program resource and execution guidance, oversight and responsibility, planning, technical direction, and personnel management for the assigned branch.
  • You will maintain responsibility and accountability for resources, adhering to established regulations, guidance, policy and procedures in the execution of the mission of the assigned division.
  • You will understand and facilitate management goals and command objectives, and develop improvements or design new work processes and procedures to improve productivity and value added from fleet products.
  • You will adjust work operations to meet emergency or changing program or production requirements utilizing available resources with minimum risk to the quality of work accomplished and the negative effect to resources.
  • You will be responsible for management of union relationships, overall Branch customer satisfaction, resource budgeting and execution, and management of compliance items within the Branch.
  • You will manage positions and pay, selection and assignment of employees, employee training and development, management-employee communications, evaluation on performance, utilization of incentives, and administration on leave and timekeeping.
  • You will provide technical leadership and guidance to personnel conducting the processes or planning associated with either Standard Missile, Evolved SeaSparrow Missile (ESSM), Tomahawk, and MK 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) workload.

Qualifications: For the NT-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Analyzing and evaluating resource requirements to develop and monitor budget execution and resolve financial planning issues ensuring the efficiency of ship weapon systems. For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Facilitating command objectives and resource execution to support ship weapon system projects in compliance with budget requirements.
