Job Summary: About the Position: This position is located at the Directorate of Emergency Services, Physical Security Branch on Fort Benning, Ga. The MCOE is located 100 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia, and is adjacent to Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Public transportation and free parking are available.

Major Duties:

  • Supervise Physical Security Specialists and subordinate supervisors over the Installation Physical Security Program - Compliance, the Installation Physical Security Program Formulate construction contracts.
  • Advise the Installation Commanding General, other MACOM Commanders, Garrison Command, and Director of Emergency Services of issues that impact the security position of the Garrison and their tenants.
  • Serve as the Physical Security Subject Matter Expert for the Installation Command Inspection Program.
  • Develops plans and operating procedures, sets policies and coordinates all matters pertaining to physical security and installation access control.
  • Serves as the Command's subject matter expert on force protection planning, terrorism counteractions, and assist on all command security upgrade projects.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Specialized Experience for External Applicants: One year of specialized experience which includes advising on security matters, coordinated with multiple agencies, and prepared detailed reports, plans, and correspondence; directing and manage subordinate staff; experience using a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices; use various modern security systems and equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
