Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY NUCLEAR ENGINEER PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Major Duties:

  • You will exercise direct and indirect supervision over the workload of nuclear engineers, health physicists, physical science technicians, and emergency management specialists.
  • You will coordinate, direct, and decide on a broad range of Australia Maintenance Support RADCON Program Matters affecting the Shipyard Repair Facility - West's overall nuclear work performance.
  • You will resolve problems, initiate and curtail the work of Australian Maintenance Support Radiological Control branches, and make official commitments for the radiological aspects of the SRF-West operations.
  • You will develop, establish, and promulgate policy and plans for the Australia Maintenance Support RADCON Program jointly with the Director.
  • You will consult on the Ship Repair Facility - West's RADCON program, representing the shipyard on technical matters pertaining to radiological controls with representatives of NAVSEA, government agencies and authorities, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Education Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Proven ability in technical and managerial field comparable to the scope, complexity, and significance of a shipyard Radiological Control Program to apply this knowledge in various aspects of the job; policy making, problem solving, mentoring, and engaging with Naval Seas System Command (NAVSEA) and civil authorities. Expert knowledge and understanding of the Shipyard organization, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program, and radiological controls program. Experience with analyzing program, organizational, and mission performance and evaluative methods to apply regulatory requirements or changes to the program.
