Job Summary: As the Deputy Assistant Manager for Operations and Engineering (DAMOE), the incumbent will be responsible for the leadership, direction, coordination, day-to-day guidance, and implementation of activities to provide effective Facility Representative and Safety System Oversight Programs for nuclear and non-nuclear high-hazard facilities on the NNSS.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: To meet the basic qualification requirements for General Engineer/Physical Scientist, EN-0801/1301-04, in addition to meeting the educational requirements for this position, a candidate's application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA Demonstration Project pay band or GS grade in the Federal Service, i.e., EN-03 or GS-13 in managing or conducting oversight of the implementation of safety management programs for high-hazard facilities (e.g., nuclear, chemical, explosives) to ensure regulatory compliance of facility operations. Qualifying Specialized Experience for the EN-04 level includes: Experience as a DOE Facility Representative or Safety System Oversight Representative conducting oversight at DOE Nuclear Facilities Experience as a subject matter expert implementing or evaluating safety management programs for high-hazard facilities (e.g., nuclear, chemical, explosives) Experience with developing Documented Safety Analysis (DSAs)/Technical Safety Requirements (TSRs), implementing, or performing oversight of, 10 CFR 830 requirements. Experience with conducting formal audits and assessments of high-hazard facilities or activities independently, leading teams, orparticipating as a Team Member.
