SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/GEOLOGIST

Salary Range: $131310 - $170708 Per Year

Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/GEOLOGIST in the Environmental Business Line, Environmental Restoration Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.

Major Duties:

  • You will maintain a staff of engineers, geologists, scientists, environmental professionals, technicians and management professionals that is responsive and provide quality and innovative products and services.
  • You will produce technical reports and work plans including preliminary assessments, site inspections, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, records of decision, community relations plans, remedial designs and actions, interim responses.
  • You will assist in the development of Strategic Business Plans, Concept of Operations, Environmental Business Plan, the Annual Execution Plan, and Annual Environmental Report to Congress.
  • You will participate in federal briefings, and professional society meetings to effectively stay abreast of new management techniques, and new or high technology aspects of ERP and projects with DoD, SECNAV, OPNAV and other government agencies.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing high quality, timely, cost effective and efficient environmental project execution and management support to the command; expertise with various media including soil groundwater, soil vapor, solid waste, storm water, wastewater, potable water, air emissions, lead based paint, and asbestos; provides expertise and consultation services on Environmental cleanup products and services to Navy and Marine Corps activities and Supported Commands on a broad range of environmental restoration matters and issues; supervising and assigning workload to subordinate supervisors and/or non-supervisory employees. If the incumbent selected is in the Environmental Engineer GS-0819 series a registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is REQUIRED. If the incumbent selected is in the Geologist GS-1350 series a registration as a Professional Geologist is REQUIRED.
