Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the COMSUBRON 3. Major Duties:

  • You will exercise direct supervision over two Readiness and Operation Managers.
  • You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
  • You will evaluate work performance of subordinates and develop performance standards.
  • You will interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions.
  • You will Carry out Equal Employment Opportunity policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates
  • You will serve as a senior US and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational consultant, and mentor to Australia Emergency Preparedness and Response staff, including Australian military, public/civil servants.
  • You will be responsible for the readiness of emergency response personnel, facilities and equipment and the effectiveness of AUKUS EPR plans, training and exercises.
  • You will exercise delegated managerial authority to allocate resources and set priorities for development of procedures and specific program plans, budgets and milestones for programs.
  • You will be closely involved with high level program government officials, to include Australia and United Kingdom in the development of overall goals and objectives for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Supervision, management and execution of personnel qualification and training programs for Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program nuclear or radiological emergency response/ engineering/controls personnel; Planning and execution of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program radiological emergency response and All Hazards exercises; Coordinating Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program emergency response policies, procedures, and exercises with other government agencies; Integrates fleet command and control principles with emergency preparedness and response to ensure U.S. Navy nuclear powered warships remain a force multiplier in the defense of the United States.
