Supervisor - Production P&F area - Termoli

Summary:

We are seeking an experienced production supervisor to lead technical and organizational management within our Powders and Fluids (P&F) area. In this role, you will ensure compliance with plant operating procedures, regulatory standards, and company directives while collaborating closely with process engineers. You will also drive team development through training and skill-building initiatives, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Please note that this role requires on-site presence five days per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and inspire the operations team to run plant operations fostering a strong company culture focused on Safety, Quality, Environmental Compliance and Continuous Improvement. 
  • Schedule and oversee maintenance activities to guarantee reliability and efficiency of facilities and equipment and to keep emission control systems running smoothly.  
  • Apply safety procedures, including issuing and verifying high-risk work permits for confined spaces, hot work, and work at height 
  • Implement Management of Change (MOC) for all plant and process modifications.  
  • Ensure operational procedures are current, accessible, and followed by staff. 
  • Analyze incidents and near-misses, and drive corrective and preventive actions to improve safety.  
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by acting as the designated Safety Officer (Preposto) under Legislative Decree 81/2008, supervising adherence to safety procedures, monitoring use of protective equipment, and promptly reporting hazards or deficiencies to management. 
  • Lead employee training and development programs, ensuring technical and safety competence.  
  • Collaborate on plant optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.  
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and proper raw material usage through FIFO and scheduled counts.  
  • Promote a culture of quality and compliance, coordinating with QA/QC for audits and improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • Chemical technician diploma or equivalent technical diploma 
  • At least 5 years’ experience in chemical production, or in a similar role supporting department management/resource coordination.  
  • Knowledge of workplace safety regulations (Legislative Decree 81/2008) and HSE procedures. 
  • Operational plant management skills: production parameters, quality, safety, and environmental impact. 
  • Skills in emergency management and high-risk work permits (confined spaces, hot work, work at height). 
  • Leadership and team management: operator coordination, training, skills development. 
  • Organizational skills: shift planning, maintenance, warehouse management. 
  • Knowledge of LoTo and Management of Change (MOC) procedures. 
  • Availability for after-hours emergencies. 

The following are preferred for the role:

  • Degree in chemical, environmental or mechanical engineering.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in chemical production, in complex or high-risk plants (Seveso Regulation)

  • Continuous improvement methodologies (5S / Lean).

  • Problem solving / incident analysis methodologies (Cause Mapping).

  • Technical skills.

  • Intermediate English.

  • Digital Skills and Industry 4.0: Knowledge of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP (SAP) systems; use of data analysis tools (Excel), digital document management, aptitude for automation; awareness of industrial cybersecurity.
