Job Summary
The Supervisor, Cost Accounting is responsible for cost accounting and inventory activities for Presource manufacturing facilities. Main responsibilities include coordinating audits (SOX, E&Y, Internal Audit) for Mexico, USA and Singapore Presource's company codes as well as Raw Material A/P process for internal Cardinal Health suppliers. This is an onsite role requiring 5 days per week at our plant in El Paso, TX.
Responsibilities
Analyze costs and inventories, ensuring accurate record-keeping across the various entities involved in the structure for Presource Juarez
Perform necessary analyses to review variances and support decision-making in PRMS, SAP, Palmeritas, TEST, and LIVE systems, ensuring product costs align with manufacturing specifications and contributing to goal achievement.
Accountable for delivering high-quality work that meets specific requirements
Responsible for escalating any inventory variances, whether caused by system failures or process issues
Provide support during various audits
Participates in Operational Excellence initiatives
Additional Responsibilities:
Follow up of the new fiscal year standards cost implementation to identify any impact
Annually conduct the inventory revaluation based on the new standards, socialize the changes and record the corresponding JE’s
Coordination and provision of information for internal and external SOX audits related to inventory, sterilization, and freight (2140/2160)
Conduct audits on excess and obsolete materials
Implement, record, review, and correct code structures for raw materials and finished goods
Monthly audits of cycle counts
Monthly closing process: JE's approvals, account analysis, variance analysis, and cross charges (PPV, MUV, substitutes, etc.)
Semiannual participation in physical inventory counts of finished goods
Participation in annual budget and quarterly forecasts
Support in calculating annual new standards
Engagement with Cardinal Health’s Values and Ethics
Support compliance with the Quality System and Policy
Timely completion of quality system training on any applicable platform
Team Supervision (Cost & Inventory Team – mainly P7 & P8):
Review and approve reserve policies, reclassifications, and inventory account corrections
Weekly/monthly analysis: MUV, Scrap, Dispatch (work orders), Z and R warehouses; follow-up on variances and continuous improvement
Preparation and review of P7 & P8 inventory RECs in compliance with CAH policy
Monthly reconciliation report preparation for variance tracking and analysis (“Who’s Who”)
Supervise accounts payable process for internal CAH suppliers (RNM and Dummy bank)
Follow-up on vendor material returns and collection of credit notes
Review and follow-up on cycle count programs and detained material warehouses through CAPAs
Analysis of current manufacturing costs and preparation of periodic review reports
Qualifications
4+ years of experience in cost accounting, preferred
Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred
Bilingual English and Spanish highly, preferred
SAP knowledge, preferred
AS400 system experience, preferred
Strong analytical skills
Advanced Excel proficiency
Anticipated salary range: $70,400 - $110,550
