Position Responsibilities
Obtain and review work orders (W/O), engineering drawings, Boeing specifications, and related documents to determine required processes, materials, and order any special details or standards as specified.
Verify that correct materials, tools, and fixtures are issued, free from defects, and coordinate with team leaders, planning, and Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T) to resolve production or tooling issues.
Coordinate with BR&T for fabrication of various production parts and work with research engineers on the development of new processes and materials.
Set up, operate, and program CNC and conventional hot forming presses, ovens, and associated high-pressure gas and hydraulic systems to form, size, anneal, or mill anneal metal alloys, including preparing, assembling, and plumbing gas systems.
Adjust and maintain heat, gas, and hydraulic control systems within specified parameters to ensure optimal equipment operation and coordinate certification requirements for proper press maintenance.
Load and unload dies and parts using material handling equipment (e.g., overhead crane, forklift), coordinating movement with Boeing Transportation as necessary.
Monitor ovens and presses during operation to ensure proper temperature and functioning, making control adjustments as required, and perform part forming per Certified Forming Schedules (CFS).
Clean parts, equipment, tools, and dies using approved chemicals and solvents; maintain spray equipment and apply protective coatings such as Ever Lube and Born Nitrate powder.
Use hand-held power tools and equipment (e.g., rotary files, abrasive wheels, plasma cutters) to finish parts by fairing contours, chamfering, trimming, and deburring.
Perform preheating of parts, jigs, fixtures, templates, and dies in ovens or presses as required.
Conduct inspections by submitting completed or in-process work to inspectors for acceptance or rejection at appropriate stages and check parts against jigs, fixtures, templates, and engineering drawings using test equipment.
Perform rework or reforming of parts as necessary to meet specifications.
Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with approved safety procedures and follow all safety protocols using personal protective equipment (PPE).
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external teams, including planning, engineering, inspection, supervision, and other shifts, to accomplish work and resolve problems.
Make necessary preparations and adjustments to ensure proper machine operation, part quality, and overall process efficiency.
Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:
Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.
Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.
Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.
Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.
Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications
3+ years of experience working with detailed work instructions or reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
3+ years of experience using precision measuring tools and equipment such as micrometers, calipers and dial indicators, etc.
3+ years of experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools.
Ability to lift 35 pounds.
Able to work with and around high temperatures, (while using the proper protective equipment).
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of experience operating forklifts.
1+ years of experience operating radio-controlled cranes.
3+ years of experience operating hot forming presses.
Typical Education & Experience:
High school graduate or GED preferred.
