Summer Internship: AI-Based Anomaly Detection for Logical Attack Detection (m/f/d)

Gratkorn Full time

Are you excited about applying machine learning to real-world security problems at the intersection of AI and hardware? Join our team for a hands-on summer internship where you will help co-build a prototype for AI-based anomaly detection targeting logical attacks. This internship offers the opportunity to work close to real hardware, data, and modern machine learning pipelines in an applied innovation and development environment.

What You Will Work On:

As part of our innovation team, you will actively contribute to building and evaluating an AI-based Anomaly Detection prototype for Cybersecurity. Your tasks will include both experimental and software-focused activities:

Data Acquisition

  • Sample runtime and system information from development boards using a tracing probe

  • Prepare and structure the collected data for further processing and analysis

Data Pipeline & Model Development

  • Work on the data pipeline for model training

  • Train and evaluate anomaly detection models using an existing ML framework

  • Analyze model performance and iterate on improvements

Evaluation & Benchmarking

  • Benchmark the developed solution against existing approaches and reference solutions

  • Document results and contribute to performance comparisons and evaluations

This internship allows you to experience how machine learning models are built, trained, and validated using data originating directly from hardware platforms.

Your Profile:

You are a motivated student with an interest in machine learning, security, and hardware-oriented systems, currently pursuing studies in fields such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Security, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.

Skills that help you shine:

  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks

  • Programming experience in Python

  • Comfortable working in a Linux environment

  • Interest in working with hardware and development boards

  • Curiosity, analytical thinking, and a structured working style

  • Good English skills (spoken and written)
