Schnucks’ Summer Intern Program is an immersive corporate internship based from our St. Louis, Missouri headquarters. Interns gain real-world experience in their designated department, and collaborate on a cross-functional, inter-disciplinary group project to present at the end of the summer. These are paid internships that require full-time attendance 6/1/2026-8/7/2026
The 2026 Risk Management Summer Internship supports multiple Risk Management initiatives including property and insurance renewals, property statement maintenance, and loss control site visits, and introduces the candidate to Schnucks’ corporate culture.
Essential Responsibilities:
Assist with the 7/1 property and casualty insurance renewal process including attending broker and underwriter meetings.
Assist with the maintenance of the property statement of values and the schedule of insurance.
Develop skills with Travelers and Origami Risk Management Information Systems (RMIS).
Assist with property insurance carrier loss control site visits and recommendation resolution.
Develop a real-world understanding of the enterprise-wide risk evaluation process by becoming involved with the Risk Evaluation Team (RET).
Develop knowledge of the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) process by attending BCP maintenance meetings.
Develop knowledge of the claim management process by assisting with property insurance claims and the oversight of insurance carriers involved with larger claims.
Minimum Requirements:
Required Education: Current and Fall 2026 enrollment in a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree program, preferably in Risk Management, Insurance or Finance, and completed at least 30 credit hours.
Available to work full-time Monday through Friday 6/1/2026 – 8/7/2026 in St. Louis, MO.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite with emphasis on Excel.
Some basic knowledge of property and casualty insurance coverage and policies, loss control concepts, actuarial analysis, and risk metrics.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Highly organized and a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
Displays values consistent with Schnucks’ COMET culture.
