Basic Qualifications

  • Accounting majors - Master or Bachelor of Accountancy (or dual accounting and finance majors) with a final graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

  • Coursework in accounting and finance, MUST BE eligible for CPA licensure upon graduation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong analytical abilities and financial and computer skills (Excel / PowerPoint in particular)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and be a team player

  • Basic knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

Our national team of M&A Tax professionals brings a significant breadth of tax expertise from Big 4 accounting firms, law firms, and leading asset management and private equity companies. We work with clients on transactions that cover the entire range of a business evolution – from founders undertaking their first recapitalization to secondary market transactions to public listings.  We offer an entrepreneurial platform where we challenge our professionals to innovate tools and deliverables that fit client and industry needs and take them to the market.

We help our clients:

  • Navigate tax challenges and capture tax opportunities inherent in the entire transaction lifecycle

  • Increase value through thoughtful, tax-advantaged transaction structuring as well as through identification and mitigation of relevant historical and projected tax risks

Responsibilities – M&A Tax

  • Participate in buy-side and sell-side M&A tax due diligence engagements

  • Collaborate with our financial and tax transaction advisory teams to perform tax structuring and modeling in connection with midmarket transactions

  • Research tax issues as needed to deliver technical tax and accounting analysis in conjunction with transaction structuring and post-close compliance

  • Build industry skills and qualifications

  • Support group strategy, thought leadership, marketing, and client development efforts

Compensation and Benefits

Houlihan Lokey is committed to providing its employees with an exciting career opportunity and competitive total compensation package. The firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting is: $70,000.00-$115,000.00 Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.
