🚀 Internship Overview
We are seeking a Summer 2026 Intern to join our POC team with a focus on Nuclear Power Generation systems and operations. This role is ideal for students pursuing nuclear engineering or related disciplines who want to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges in the energy sector. Interns will gain exposure to nuclear plant performance monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization strategies that support safe and efficient operations.
Job Description
🛠 Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing nuclear plant operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities.
- Support the development of diagnostic tools and models for nuclear system monitoring.
- Collaborate with engineers to evaluate performance metrics, safety margins, and reliability indicators.
- Contribute to projects that enhance workflow automation and visualization systems for nuclear operations.
- Document findings and present project outcomes to the POC team and leadership.
- Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment
- All other duties as assigned
🎓 Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Familiarity with nuclear power systems, reactor operations, or energy generation fundamentals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with interest in data-driven decision-making.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical concepts clearly.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.
- Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
- Must be in good academic standing with your school
