Job Summary: The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (AO) is seeking motivated students for its Student Internship Program. Major Duties:

  • The Strategic Portfolio Management Branch (SPMB) is seeking a paid student intern with an interest in information technology and the Judiciary, with superior analytic, organizational, and technology, and analytic skills. SPMB coordinates portfolio management activities related to strategic IT investments, projects, products, and IT modernization initiatives; leads and drives change across the enterprise; and drives value delivery. All internship opportunities are onsite at the Thurgood Marshall Federal Judiciary Building. Telework is not permitted. This specific internship will be in the Department of the Chief Information Officer (DCIO), Strategic Portfolio Management Branch (SPMB) Duties include, but are not limited to: Developing spreadsheets and charts on JFD/TBM data using Excel and PowerPoint. Supporting administrative activities of the JFD and TBM projects. Supporting user acceptability testing (UAT) for new JFD/TBM features.

Qualifications: All students in the Student Internship Program must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a degree-seeking student, taking at least a half-time academic or technical course load in an accredited 2 year or 4 year program, or in a post-secondary level program. Students must also be in good academic standing, maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Additional Qualification Requirements: In addition to meeting the BASIC QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS, applicants must also: Work well in a team environment. Have very strong organization and communication skills and be detailed oriented. Have a working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Excel. Have excellent writing, reading and interpersonal skills, and be able to organize a variety of assignments simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate or graduate level student working towards information technology degree. The Student Internship Program requires all participants to be active students. Therefore, seniors graduating at the end of the current semester will not be considered unless they are continuing to pursue advanced studies as a degree-seeking student at the beginning of the next semester.
