about you

We are looking for a Subsea Controls Engineer that will interface with Subsea Equipment Vendors, Operations teams including Subsea and Pipelines, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance & Reliability, Operations and Technical Projects & Execution teams to provide subsea controls expertise key to sustaining safe and reliable subsea assets.

The Subsea Controls Engineer will:

  • Identify, facilitate, and manage operational assets and associated work programs.

  • Act as the subsea controls focal point for life of field contract activities including technical input, equipment testing, fault finding, refurbishment, root cause investigation support, repair and maintenance, equipment preparation and mobilization, addressing obsolescence and developing and maintaining asset strategies.

  • Respond to, support and remediate issues on a day to day as they arise on their assigned asset(s).

To be considered for this role, applicants need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in subsea control system hardware, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, fibre optics, umbilicals, tooling and software systems.

  • Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting subsea issues using control system historical data.

  • Ability to provide on-call support for afterhours system issues on an ongoing basis.

  • Flexibility with working hours to accommodate operational site issues and requirements.

  • Willingness to travel to execute work on remote sites, vendor sites, vessels in Australia and overseas which may require several weeks to months away from the home office.

  • A focus on team orientation and delivering business objectives within timeframes. 

  • Degree qualification in relevant area.
