Peter Millar was founded in 2001 with a single cashmere sweater offered in 24 colors. The Styling Intern will work in every stage of a photoshoot from prep days, shoot days, to completion.  The photoshoots in the Summer contain in-house still imagery, in-house on model imagery, offsite photoshoots, and video projects throughout. Every week at the studio looks different than the week before.   We are looking for a candidate that wishes to work in a fast paced and always changing environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • This position will work collaboratively with all members of the Creative Team, specializing with Studio aspects of Styling, Production, Casting and Photography
  • The intern will assist the Styling Team with pulling product, creating excel documents, steaming product, recording product for inventory purposes, and assisting in the organization of our sample closets
  • The intern will be assist the Production Team creating the weekly schedule, and having a hand in booking talent 
  • The intern will assist in the process of casting talent for our brand by creating model presentation boards, organizing the casting process, and understanding our brand identity
  • The intern will assist the Photography Team by learning about lighting and camera work

COMPETENCIES:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Proficient with Adobe Indesign 
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Detail oriented; strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Possess an outgoing personality

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited institution for Fashion, Retail or Design
  • Should have excellent and effectual communication skills
  • Should possess strong attention to detail
  • Should be comfortable with forward thinking and should possess problem-solving skills
  • Should be very familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook

Internship Program Overview:
This is a paid, in-person internship based in our Raleigh or Durham offices, running from May 18 through August 7, 2026. Interns are paid $18.25 per hour and will gain hands-on experience by being fully integrated into their respective teams. Throughout the internship, participants will complete a capstone project, collaborate cross-functionally, connect with company leaders and executives, and participate in intern lunch-and-learns and other professional development opportunities.
