Job Description
The Mutafova-Yambolieva laboratory at the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology of the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine is recruiting a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist in the laboratory.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing solutions and buffers for experiments
Labeling materials for ongoing research
Carrying out physiology type experiment under supervision
Performing data analysis
Required Qualifications
Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a research laboratory setting
Interests in scientific research
Knowledge using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
Prior knowledge on GraphPad Prism software
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, estimated 15-20 hours per week/3-4 hours a day.
Compensation
$15 per hour
Laboratory Information
The Mutafova-Yambolieva laboratory investigates novel mechanisms of regulation of bladder excitability by chemical mediators that transmit signals from the bladder mucosa to the underlying bladder muscle and the central nervous system and. The laboratory is the recipient of the 2023 Excellence in Laboratory Safety Award of the University of Nevada Reno. In 2023, the principal investigator Dr. Violeta Mutafova-Yambolieva was also recognized with the prestigious UNR Foundation Professor Award.
