Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Join the Department of Residence team at Iowa State University and play an important role in helping students feel at home on campus. We are seeking an organized, customer-focused professional to serve as an Assignments Specialist, supporting housing operations that impact thousands of students each year.
This position blends customer service, problem-solving, and behind-the-scenes coordination to manage housing assignments, contracts, billing processes, guest housing, and student support. Coordinate housing assignments for new and returning students, room changes, cancellations, roommate requests, and summer housing.
Review and process housing contracts while helping students understand policies, timelines, and options.
Assess housing and dining charges, review billing activity, and process adjustments or refunds as needed.
Manage guest housing placements, early arrivals, and late stay requests.
Serve as a trusted resource for students, families, and campus partners by providing professional, responsive support.
Help maintain accurate records and ensure important processes run smoothly during high-volume times of year.

Experience with on-campus housing/property management
Experience utilizing campus housing management software
Experience with billing operations and auditing of financial transactions, including reviewing charges and identifying errors
Experience managing or coordinating high-volume, detail oriented processes with frequent deadlines.
