Student Life Office Administrator/Project Assistant

Berklee College of Music - Boston Part time

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

  • Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.

  • Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).

  • Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.

  • A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.

  • Federal Work Study student may apply.

  • In good disciplinary standing.

  • Must be located in the U.S.

The purpose of this position is to assist with general office assistance, event support, technical support for meetings, and a variety of other tasks in the Offices of the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Life and Community Standards and Conflict Resolution. These positions will report to the Assistant Dean for Student Life.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in the Office of the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Life, 4th Floor of 155 Mass Avenue.

  • Serve as a receptionist, greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff and visitors with various inquiries.  

  • Provide administrative support including but not limited to, answering phones, announcing visitors, making referrals to other departments, scanning, photocopying, maintaining office supplies, and assisting the staff. 

  • Support and assist with initiatives related to student recognition and commencement. 

  • Assist with meeting and event set up including technological assistance, associated catering and physical plant orders, and break down as needed.

  • Process requests for conference room reservations and handle communication as required.

  • Represent the student voice and provide feedback as required; work with student groups and gather information on student needs as assigned; conduct tabling and surveying of students to help inform the Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Life

  • Support and implement marketing and outreach initiatives, as needed.

  • Assist with executive calendar management as needed.

  • Additional tasks as assigned.

  • Cultural competency and sensitivity

  • Ability to work alone and with a team

  • Mac proficient

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Administrative or customer-service related experience (preferred)

  • Multilingual a plus

We desire open, honest, self-motivated, culturally sensitive team members who are self-starters and positive role models. Previous office experience is preferred, a moderate knowledge of Campus Life and or Housing and their roles would be helpful, a moderate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are helpful, good interpersonal, writing, and communication skills are important. Attention to detail and confidentiality are essential.  

Hourly Rate: $16.45
