Canadian Operations, Client Experience Office (CXO), Value Realization Office, Project & Portfolio Management and Canadian Expense Management are support units within Sun Life Financial Canada accountable for the execution of business processes and projects supporting Individual Insurance, Individual Wealth, Distribution, Group Benefits, Group Retirement Services. With >6,000 FTEs in Canada and Asia, and an annual budget of over $1billion, it creates value for the enterprise by delivering industry-leading customer service and focusing on increasing productivity and efficiency.

The Junior Financial Analyst will assist the agenda for the respective teams with a strong focus on process improvements. This hands-on role, will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to interact with members of the Centre of Excellence finance team and members of the finance and project teams from the other Canadian Business and Support Units.

What will you do?

  • Execute and improve on financial models/tools/reports to support operational processes
  • Support other ad hoc financial analysis and consulting as required.
  • Partner with other finance areas to drive forward the future vision of financial functions
  • Understand common charges and the SLF expense management process
  • Improve documentation and create a sustainable knowledge base
  • Help improve storage tools and systems
  • Be able to recognize and implement continuous improvements

What do you need to succeed?

  • Results oriented and critical thinking – high sense of ownership
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Strong relationship management skills with a focus on client orientation; including excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Problem solving skills with a natural curiosity for root cause analysis to identify key levers of financial and operational performance
  • Prioritization and organization skills - capable of meeting deadlines in a high-performance environment
  • Strong PC skills (Role utilizes tools such as: MSOffice Suite, Sharepoint, Outlook, Tableau, Hyperion)

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.
