Student Engagement Advisor

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Student Success, the Student Engagement Advisor is responsible for the day-to-day administration, coordination, and continuous improvement of undergraduate student engagement initiatives within the College of Business Administration (CBA). This individual plays a central role in managing the CBA Advantage program, overseeing student organization operations and related budget processes, and coordinating engagement activities that support co-curricular learning and leadership development.

In addition to engagement programming, the Student Engagement Advisor provides advising support to undergraduate CBA students, including guidance on undergraduate program requirements and co-curricular expectations. The role serves as a primary point of contact for undergraduate student engagement, manages systems and processes associated with co-curricular participation, and contributes to college-wide initiatives focused on student success, retention, and timely degree completion.

Position Specific Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Coordinate, administer, and support the growth of the CBA Advantage program, including ongoing management of the Suitable platform for creating, curating, uploading, reviewing, and tracking approved co-curricular opportunities.

  • Process, review, and monitor student submissions in Suitable, including completions, resubmissions, and expiration timelines for all CBA Advantage activities.

  • Prepare, analyze, and organize CBA Advantage data and reports from Suitable, with particular attention to graduating seniors and students not making adequate progress toward program requirements.

  • Advise undergraduate CBA students on academic planning, course registration, and student engagement opportunities throughout the academic year, including removing advising holds and approving recommended course schedules.

  • Counsel undergraduate students regarding academic requirements, deficiencies, and co-curricular learning expectations, including guidance related to CBA Advantage participation and, when appropriate, recommendations for disciplinary or corrective action.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for undergraduate student engagement inquiries, with a particular focus on CBA student organizations and leadership development.

  • Oversee operational, administrative, and budgetary requests from CBA student organizations, maintaining accurate records of activities, funding, and compliance.

  • Collaborate with the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Student Success to design, implement, and assess co-curricular and extra-curricular programs aligned with CBA Advantage competency areas and broader student success goals.

  • Develop and maintain awareness of relevant engagement opportunities across campus to enhance undergraduate student involvement and learning.

  • Hire, train, supervise, and manage student workers who support CBA Advantage, undergraduate student engagement initiatives, and office operations.

  • Coordinate the planning, logistics, and execution of signature events for the Undergraduate Programs and Student Engagement Office, including but not limited to the Student Leader Sunset Reception, First Year Summit, Beta Gamma Sigma Recognition Ceremony, CBA Society Awards Banquet.

  • Represent the Undergraduate Programs & Student Engagement Office at key university events such as orientation programs, open houses, preview days, recruitment activities, and commencement.

  • Model inclusive, student-centered practices in all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.

  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Undergraduate Programs and Student Engagement Office and the CBA Dean’s Office.

Requisite Qualifications

  • Typically, a bachelor’s degree in business, education, or a related field or equivalent experience. Incumbent will be expected to continue upgrading knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to keep abreast of regulation/policy changes.

  • Minimum of two years of related experience in higher education, preferably in a related academic field. Experience working directly with undergraduate students in a student engagement, advising, or student success role is preferred.

  • Experience with university platforms and student information systems (Suitable, Banner, PROWL, Degree Works, etc.) is preferred.

  • Experience supervising undergraduate student employees or student leaders is preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate in high-volume environments.

  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to work independently while showcasing exemplary written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and campus/university partners.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student and institutional information with accuracy and professionalism.

  • Coursework or experience in areas such as leadership, student and/or educational development, educational administration, or counseling preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management, administrative coordination, data management, and budgeting processes preferred.

  • Familiarity with college or university administrative operations, including coordination across offices and different departments, preferred.

Salary range

$71,100.00 - $88,900.00 Salary commensurate with education and experience.
