Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University's Office of the Registrar is seeking a Senior Clerk - Boca Raton, FL.

The Senior Clerk serves as a primary point of contact for the Office of the Registrar, providing courteous front‑desk support and ensuring student inquiries and requests are handled accurately and efficiently. This role maintains and updates student records, processes academic and administrative forms, and assists with evaluating academic actions and tuition waivers. Working closely with the Office Manager and Registrar, the Senior Clerk helps ensure data accuracy, supports policy‑compliant processing, and maintains an organized and professional lobby environment. The position also contributes to various additional duties that help maintain smooth and effective office operations.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Works as the point of contact for the front lobby courteously greeting visitors, addressing inquiries, requests, and resolving issues using documented policy and procedures. Serves as a liaison between the Office Manager and the front desk staff; advises Office Manager of issues with processing and oversees that the proper procedures are being followed at all times.

  • Maintains the distribution of student requests to ensure that student records are updated accurately. Distributes change of major, fiscal reinstatement, registration drop/add requests to ensure that requests are being processed in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Evaluates student records for accuracy and provides specific information with respect to the academic actions, forgiveness, drop/add, withdrawal, graduation, etc. Verifies and distributes Tuition Waivers. Works with the Office Manager and Registrar to clarify any waiver problems.

  • Accesses computer records to respond to inquiries concerning academic status, enrollment status, class availability, degrees earned, etc. Consults with faculty, staff and students when necessary.

  • Edits and inputs transactions in Student Data System such as registration, withdrawals and student information changes. Processes changes in student records such as address changes, name changes and college major.

  • Keeps order and professional appearance in counter and lobby area. Replenishes supplies forms, signs. Maintains an accurate inventory of necessary forms. Serves as backup for the Switchboard when necessary.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and two years of appropriate experience required.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Two years of experience in admissions, registration, academic advising, or academic affairs within a higher-education setting.

Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., Banner) and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Strong customer service focus and commitment to stakeholder support.

Salary:

$20.52 per hour.
