Student, Data Analyst (Fall 2026)

Job Description:

Location: Toronto One York (required in-person twice a week)

Reporting to the Manager, Data and Analytics, the Data Analyst Co-op will be responsible for the maintenance analytical solutions for the Sun Life High Net Worth team. As a member of the Data and Analytics team, the Data Analyst is integral to the success of the team. The role is responsible to maintain existing reports, dashboards and documentation. The successful candidate will also participate in a range of data and analytics initiatives across Sun Life High Net Worth by supporting testing and validation activities.

Preferred skills

  • Experience writing SQL queries to analyze data
  • Experience with VBA and building excel macros
  • Comfortable learning new applications and processes quickly with minimal direction
  • Data analysis / visualization using Tableau
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Able to consistently meet deadlines
  • Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing data assets and ensure timely delivery to business partners
  • Support the creation of data visualizations, dashboards, and reports
  • Maintain business requirements documentation, source to target mappings and other data & analytics related documentation
  • Maintain automated reporting on key performance metrics (KPIs) and scorecard metrics using Tableau
  • Support testing and validation of data assets

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
