Job Opportunity: Art Collections Curatorial Assistant

Position Title: Art Collections Curatorial Assistance  
Department: Library / Brock University Art Collection]
Location: Main and downtown campus
Term: Fall 2025 / /Part-Time / 10 hours per week/30 weeks
Compensation: $17.60 per hour

Position Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and motivated student with an interest in art, research and storytelling. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations of a university art collection, with a focus on curatorial research, restoration projects and  establishing not for profit/charitable status.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with research and writing for social media, tours, digitization and social media projects.
  • Support administrative tasks related to charitable status applications and reporting
  • Contribute to the organization and documentation of artworks within the collection
  • Assist with project-based research related to not-for-profit and cultural governance
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to institutional planning and reporting

Qualifications:

  • Current student with interest in visual arts, arts administration, museum studies, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and research skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel (intermediate level or higher preferred)
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive information with care
  • Interest in governance, curatorial research and writing and the non-profit cultural sector
  • Previous experience with working with art and cultural institutions is an asset
