Join us and make a difference!

Your future team:

You will become part of the Product Environmental Sustainability team, a passionate, driven, and innovative team that is as international as the challenges it tackles. The Product Environmental Sustainability team consists of four members — two senior specialists and two junior colleagues — spanning Denmark and Poland, and operating as part of Group Regulatory Affairs.

Our mission is to empower ROCKWOOL colleagues across the globe with the latest knowledge on environmental assessment of products and buildings. With a network of more than 40 sustainability professionals worldwide, we are never short of meaningful collaboration or real-world impact.

We cover a broad and evolving landscape: current and upcoming regulation, standardisation activities, and Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) — including the active transition of declarations under the new Construction Products Regulation. No two days look the same, and that keeps us energised.

We are a young, dynamic, and creative team — and we thrive because of the way we work together. Operating across borders and time zones means we have built a culture grounded in:

🤝 Trust and accountability — we take ownership of our work and rely on each other to do the same

💬 Open, honest communication — frequent updates and constructive feedback are part of our daily rhythm

🌍 Independence with collaboration — we work autonomously while staying closely connected to a global network

🔥 Genuine engagement — we care deeply about sustainability and the role our work plays in shaping a greener built environment

What you will be doing:

Product sustainability in the construction sector is at a pivotal moment. On one side, the new Construction Products Regulation (EU 2024/3011) requires that the environmental information of products shifts from voluntary environmental product declarations (EPDs) to mandatory information necessary to CE mark products. On the other hand, the Revised Energy performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD, EU 2024/1275) is also mandating environmental assessments in the form of LCAs for all new buildings > 1000 m2 from 2028 and for all new buildings from 2030. The methodologies developed within the EPBD framework will also be used to calculate limit values in all EU Member States in the form of kg CO2-eq per m2 - so not only it is necessary to have environmental data for construction products for building LCAs - the overall values obtained are also crucial.

Working in the team, you will learn about all the above topics and more, related to construction products, environmental sustainability, LCA and EPDs, and EU Regulation.

We are looking for student assistant that can support the Product Environmental Sustainability Team in its daily tasks and longer term projects.

In particular, as a student assistant you will:

  • Attend the Product Sustainability Team meetings
  • Assist in mapping and preparing the Regulatory activities at EU level (meeting organization and preparation, task group tracking, and maintaining an overview of activities)
  • Perform ad-hoc Regulatory overview briefs for the team
  • Contribute in the SharePoint of the Team
  • Assist the team in the preparation of transition from EPD to DoPC (project)

What you bring:

We are looking for responsible and driven individuals who can carry out tasks independently while also contributing to the overall goals of the Team. You should have knowledge of LCA, attention to detail and willingness to work with data, but also curiosity to learn about regulation and standards and the whole picture.

Key Candidate Qualities

  • Self-driven and proactive, able to work independently while meeting team objectives
  • Curious and eager to learn, with a growth-oriented mindset
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Passionate about environmental sustainability and process improvement
  • Strong team player, collaborative and supportive
  • Effective communicator, able to convey ideas clearly and work across functions

Key Competences:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree is an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) principles and methodology
  • Experience with or strong interest in environmental product documentation, including EPDs
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and work with complex data
  • Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in relevant tools and software
  • Exceptional attention to detail and precision in all deliverables
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a structured and independent manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Familiarity with environmental regulation and standardisation (an advantage)
  • Experience working in an international or cross-functional environment (an advantage)

We know that you might not meet all the things on this list, but you might bring skills and experience that we haven’t even included here.
