Hybrid: This co-op opportunity will be a combination of in person and hybrid work.  When working remotely, you will be required to work within the province. Remote work outside of the province will not be a possibility.  

What you will do

  • Reporting to the Corporate Archivist, the successful candidate will be responsible for ingesting digital archival content, metadata capture and entry, and processing digital backlog.
  • Support the Corporate Communications team with timely information, resources, and research, particularly during the Corporate Archivist's absence
  • Research, draft, and coordinate publishing of historical internal social media posts
  • Provide administrative support, general communications coordination, and other assigned projects

What you need to succeed

  • Currently enrolled in a Master of Information (MIS or MLIS), Master of Archival Studies (MAS) from an ALA-accredited school or an acceptable equivalent degree is required. Master of Public History will also be accepted.
  • Excellent written communication, organizational, and research skills with attention to detail and ability to write for diverse audiences
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with strong ability to work independently, pitch creative ideas, and solve problems
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite, InMagic DBTextworks, Preservica, ArchivesSpace, and IBM Notes, with willingness to learn additional digital tools
  • Familiarity with archival descriptive standards (RAD, DACS, ISAD(G)), Dublin Core, metadata standards, and the OAIS model

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
