Base salary will be in the range of $82,133.76 - $91,295.50 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 5)

The Faculty of Science is seeking a motivated and organised Student and Academic Administration Officer to join our Student Administration team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality customer service and contribute to the smooth operation of our academic programs.
In this role, you will be responsible for completing a diverse range of administrative tasks, providing accurate and informative advice to students, academic, and professional staff, and assisting with day-to-day problem resolution. You will also play a key role in maintaining and improving our administrative systems, ensuring processes are efficient and effective. A preferred start would be in late January or early February, and we can offer some flexibility for the right candidate.
Key responsibilities will include:
Provide timely and accurate information to students, staff, and stakeholders in line with University policies and procedures.
Process and coordinate student administration tasks including admissions, enrolments, examinations, timetabling, progression, and study abroad.
Prepare documentation and recommendations to support decision-making on student matters.
Assist with academic administration tasks such as updating electronic course profiles, Blackboard sites, exam papers, grade uploads, and amendments.
Review and maintain the accuracy of student information across databases, websites, and publications.
Provide secretarial and administrative support for committees, meetings, and working groups.
Support student engagement activities such as UQ Open Day, Courses and Careers Days, and other outreach events.

An undergraduate degree in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training.
A sound understanding of administrative processes relevant to student and academic administration, or the ability to rapidly gain such knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in written work.
Ability to exercise initiative and judgment and to work independently and autonomously.
High level written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
The ability to work collaboratively and effectively within the team and across other organisational units.
A strong orientation to the provision of a high level of customer service.
An empathy with and ability to communicate with students, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Experience in student administration within a tertiary or large organisation, along with familiarity with university systems (SI-net, Business Objects, InPlace), Microsoft Office, and CRM tools, would be highly desirable.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and criminal check.
