We are seeking a motivated Developer (Co-op) to join our technology team. In this role, you will contribute to building, supporting, and enhancing our business applications and systems. This position is well-suited for individuals who enjoy solving complex problems, learning emerging technologies, and collaborating effectively within a team environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support and troubleshoot applications and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation and diagrams for our systems and services to facilitate knowledge sharing and operational efficiency. 

  • Assist with application development, including testing and deployment, to deliver robust solutions. 

  • Collaborate with team members and partners to provide effective solutions for business needs. 

  • Participate actively in design reviews and Agile meetings to drive project success. 

  • Gather and refine requirements for new features, ensuring alignment with business objectives. 

  • Provide end-user support for existing applications to resolve issues and improve user experience. 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a university or College program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field. 

  • Demonstrates a strong interest in web and mobile application development. 

  • Familiarity with programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, C#, or Python is considered an asset. 

  • Understanding of cloud platforms, strong understanding of Azure is advantageous. 

  • Exhibits strong communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Shows willingness to learn and share knowledge with others. 

Preferred Experience and Attributes 

  • Enrollment in a University or College program focused on Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred; other information technology disciplines will also be considered. 

  • Displays a strong commitment to collaborative problem-solving within a team context. 

  • Experience with any of the following technologies is an asset: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, AngularJS, JQuery, React, Java, C#, HTML5, CSS3, MVC, Node.js, JEE, Apache, PHP, .Net, Spring, SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, NoSQL, Visual Basic, ASP.NET, SQL. 

  • Knowledge of web services such as RESTful/SOAP, XML, JSON, and AJAX. 

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Google GCP, Azure, Heroku, and Cloud Foundry. 

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes. 

  • Proficiency in version control systems, including Git and GitLab. 

  • Demonstrated ability in requirements gathering and business analysis. 

  • Understanding of continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices. 

  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. 

  • Superior troubleshooting and performance management capabilities. 

  • Experience in project planning and coordination. 

  • Expertise in workflow analysis and design. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Embraces collaborative knowledge sharing within a team environment. 

  • Shows a keen interest in introducing new ideas, demonstrating originality and creative thinking.

The expected salary range for this position is $50,700.00 - $70,200.00 per year, prorated based on the term of the contract.
