Global Credit team within OMERS Capital Markets is seeking an 8-month Intern Investment Analyst to join the group in Toronto starting in September 2026.
Global Credit is a key pillar of OMERS investment strategy, providing a diversified, and reliable income stream for the OMERS Plan. The Global Credit team, which manages ~$27B, brings together a team of credit investment specialists across sectors, geographies, and parts of the capital structure, with the objective of selecting strong risk-adjusted return investment opportunities across public and private credit markets.


The Alternative Investments team is the private credit arm under Global Credit, which encompasses corporate private credit and infrastructure credit investments. This role is focused on supporting new investments due diligence and monitoring existing portfolio including GP partnerships, co-investments, and direct investments across industries, asset classes and capital structure (i.e., OpCo, unitranche, HoldCo / mezzanine, asset-backed financings, CLOs and preferred / structured credit). Our investment philosophy is centered on building a high-quality, highly diversified portfolio of sub-investment grade private credit, supplemented with creative capitalization strategies to create robust risk-adjusted returns. Your primary duties will include assisting the investments team in analyzing, recommending, monitoring prospective and existing positions and supporting portfolio-level decisions for the team. You will develop relationships and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high performing team.


As an Intern Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing private corporate credit & infrastructure credit investment opportunities, with the objective of producing solid investment recommendations

  • Produce comprehensive bottom-up credit / relative value analyses to support investment decisions

  • Conducting in-depth due diligence and preparing investment committee memos across a plethora of credit opportunities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operations of investment activities and portfolio management

  • Perform portfolio monitoring activities by leveraging database software (Tableau, Power BI, and Excel)


To succeed in this role, you bring the following:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Economics, Math, Computer Science, or Engineering

  • Proven track record of strong academic and extracurricular achievements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with databases, and large datasets (python, SQL, etc)

  • Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail

  • Commitment to learning and intellectual curiosity, with a passion for investing

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and timelines

  • Strong research, problem-solving and project management skills with a strong work ethic

  • Knowledge in private credit investing and infrastructure investing considered an asset

  • Interview Format: First round consists of behavioral and technical questions, including a walk-through of your pitch. Selected candidates progressing to the second round will be tasked with a short case study analyzing a credit investment opportunity of a public company.

The expected salary range for this position is $66,300.00 - $87,750.00 per year, prorated based on the term of the contract.
