The Raytheon Strategic Business Unit (SBU) Controllership team has an opening for a Senior Manager, SBU Accounting. This role performs technical accounting activities including research and documentation of accounting matters, application of GAAP to revenue transactions and processes, and support of compliance activities. Responsibilities include participation in technical accounting projects such as policy updates, training, and accounting process activities. The role also supports SBU accounting priorities and provides support to SBU accounting and Raytheon Finance.

The role includes interaction with finance personnel and stakeholders across the organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Assessment and documentation of accounting issues and provision of implementation guidance and monitoring for SBU Accounting
  • Support of compliance activities, including reviews and responses to compliance requests for SBU Accounting
  • Participation in technical accounting projects including policy updates, training, and accounting process activities
  • Assessment of new awards for revenue recognition, including timing of recognition and identification of performance obligations in accordance with company policy and U.S. GAAP
  • Review of quarterly Estimate at Completion (EAC) packages for long-term contracts
  • Application of U.S. GAAP and company policies to finance activities
  • Support of external and internal audit activities, including ad-hoc requests, quarterly reviews, and annual audit procedures
  • Support of internal controls activities and execution of assigned controls in coordination with the SBU Assistant Controller

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Math, Business or a related field, and a minimum of 10 years in finance/accounting experience; or an advanced degree and a minimum of 7 years in finance/accounting experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification
  • Experience in accounting, audit, or program finance in industry or public accounting environments
  • Experience reviewing contracts or agreements to determine accounting treatment
  • Experience researching transactions under U.S. GAAP or company policies and documenting conclusions
  • Application of financial accounting concepts in accounting, audit, or finance activities
  • Work performed in a matrix organization environment
  • Preparation of financial analyses and written documentation
  • Communication of accounting findings in written and verbal formats
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Use of financial reporting software for data analysis and reporting

Remote: This position currently is designated as remote. Employees who are working in remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home) but may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. The successful candidate for this role will be required to reside and work from one of the 50 U.S. states (excluding U.S. territories).

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
