Adelaide, South Australia, Australia Full time

Title:

Structural Engineer

KBR continued its strong growth throughout 2025, securing major Defence and infrastructure programs—and we’re set for even greater momentum in 2026. As our Adelaide team expands, we’re looking for a skilled and motivated Structural Engineer ready to contribute to high‑impact projects and grow with us.

The Opportunity:

As our Structural Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering structural solutions across Defence, buildings, and infrastructure projects. You’ll take ownership of engineering tasks, support project delivery, build strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of our Adelaide team. You’ll also have opportunities to lead smaller work packages, guide graduate engineers, and represent KBR in industry settings — all while developing your technical and professional capability.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Deliver structural engineering tasks independently, ensuring outputs meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements

  • Lead small projects or work packages, coordinating resources and technical delivery

  • Prepare and present clear technical information to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams

  • Support and mentor graduate engineers

  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in Defence and building infrastructure projects

  • Maintain strong client relationships through proactive, professional communication

  • Engage in continuous improvement and stay current with industry standards and technologies

  • Represent KBR at industry events and contribute technical insights to project and business development activities

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent)

  • Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SpaceGass or similar)

  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering work independently within budget and schedule

  • Experience coordinating smaller projects or work packages

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present, collaborate, and tailor messages to different audiences

  • Problem‑solving mindset with high attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • Proactive approach to learning, development, and emerging technologies

  • Exposure to multidisciplinary environments and client-facing roles (advantageous)

  • Australian Citizenship (mandatory for Defence project work)

Why Join Us?

At KBR, you’ll be part of a forward‑thinking team delivering some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure projects. We’re investing in the future of South Australia — and you’ll be at the heart of it. You’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful, high‑impact work that shapes critical Defence and national infrastructure, leaving a lasting legacy in the region.

We support flexible work arrangements that promote balance and wellbeing, and we offer ongoing professional development pathways, including support toward Chartered status.
