Conducts all activities concerned with the design, development and implementation of structural design for secondary and tertiary packaging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:
• Communicate and facilitate the direction and formatting of design deliverables and produce necessary communications pieces in both print and digital environments for a wide range of clients.
• Collaborate internally, as well as with clients to conceptualize and execute creative solutions that can be translated across various media platforms.
• Keep informed on latest trends and forecasts.
• Work closely with the Supervising Administrator of Packaging Design Services to create accurate price estimates and cost breakdowns while delivering solutions within budget.
• Manage multiple customer projects while maintaining due dates and deliverables.
• Continuously maintain Spec Guide that references processes, standards and information on existing packaging equipment at Sharp, such as serialization area parameters. Spec Guide to be referenced during the packaging design and development process.
• Support non-product design projects as needed. Examples include designing marketing materials and samples used for Business Development.
• Produce unprinted and printed prototype samples using various materials.
• Assist in the planning and creative process of new client acquisition with Account Executives.
• Work with vendors on the development of needed materials/packing concepts.
• Perform pre- and post-production quality checks.
• Complete creative deliverables within the agreed deadline and budget.
• Seek out new products and maintain cutting edge industry knowledge.
• Work alongside various Engineering departments to ensure initial designs will work properly on Sharp machinery.
This position requires an incumbent who is adaptable and quick learner. Must be able to apply customer supplied style guides creatively and work with third party agencies, along with:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Package Design or Graphic Design from two-year or four-year college or university is preferred; or at least three to five years related and documented experience and/or training in a related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with CGMP packaging & medical packaging a plus. Experience with Artios CAD, barcode creation, and serialization.
