We’re looking for people who are excited about joining the Pay by Bank revolution and helping us change the way the world pays. Could this be you?
Join TrueLayer at a pivotal moment in our growth. We are seeking a Strategic Projects Manager to lead our first major acquisition and drive operational integration. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations, you will be the execution engine for our integration strategy, focusing on unifying commercial processes and systems.
In this role, you will merge two distinct operational ecosystems, streamline business processes, integrate complex tech stacks, and establish the cadences that enhance revenue efficiency. You will deliver measurable improvements by migrating and consolidating CRM data, optimising customer journey workflows, and leveraging AI-driven automation to future-proof our operations.
Given the nature of the role, we’re looking for someone who excels at building frameworks that boost team performance, quickly forges strong relationships, and influences stakeholders across functions to drive complex initiatives forward.
What we expect from you as a Strategic Project Manager:
Integration Project Management & Governance
- Develop the Integration Roadmap: Create a detailed project plan outlining the timeline for merging systems, and processes (e.g., 30/60/90/180-day plans, identifying potential risks and creating mitigation strategies.
- Manage Actions: Track actions, commitments, and cross-functional dependencies, ensuring follow-through and accountability. Surface and escalate risks, dependencies, and blockers early to enable timely decision-making.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare weekly or bi-weekly status reports for the VP of Commercial Ops and the CCO, highlighting blockers, decisions made, and upcoming milestones.
- Resource Coordination: Act as the "traffic controller," ensuring Commercial leadership and other key stakeholders (IT, Finance, etc) are aligned on when specific changes will happen.
Systems & Data Strategy
- Tech Stack Audit: Map out the software currently used by both companies (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, Gong, Outreach, Slack) to decide which tools to keep, retire, or merge.
- Data Migration & Hygiene: Oversee the cleanup of CRM data. Identify duplicate accounts, standardise field names, and ensure historical data (past deals/emails) is consolidated into one source instance.
- Access & Security: Manage user licenses and permissions to ensure the incoming team has access to the right tools at the correct points during the transition period.
Process Design & Optimisation
- Workflow Mapping: Create "As-Is" vs. "To-Be" process maps for the customer journey (from Lead -> Closed Won -> Integrating -> Go-Live). Identifying and helping redesign inefficient processes, working closely with Commercial teams to embed improvements.
- Standardisation: Define shared commercial definitions (e.g., defining exactly what constitutes a "Qualified Lead" or "Churn") so both teams speak the same language.
- Sales Cadence Design: Establish the schedule and structure for critical meetings, such as weekly vertical meetings calls, pipeline reviews, and deep dives.
- Rules of Engagement: Draft policies regarding remit and ownership to prevent conflict between the two merging teams.
Enablement & Change Management
- Playbook Creation: Write or update documentation (SOPs) that explains the new merged processes to the commercial teams.
- Training Delivery: Coordinate or lead training sessions on the new systems and workflows to ensure high adoption rates.
- Feedback Loops: Set up channels to gather feedback from the Sales and Account Management teams.
About You:
- Demonstrable experience in business operations, consulting, or project management, ideally in a high-growth or complex organisation.
- Experienced in managing multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring precision and focus on details.
- Skilled at building operating rhythms, reporting cadences, and goal-setting frameworks that facilitate accountability and cohesion.
- Skilled in managing stakeholders and encouraging collaboration without positional authority — able to cultivate trust, maintain leader alignment, and guarantee follow-through.
- Highly process-oriented with the ability to document, codify, and maintain clear playbooks for rituals, processes, and tools.
- Comfortable tracking and escalating risks, dependencies, and blockers to the right stakeholders, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
- Brings a change management mindset — able to encourage adoption of new rituals, processes, and tools across diverse functions.
- Curious and pragmatic about leveraging AI and automation tools in daily operations.
- Committed and responsive to developing order in a fast-growing atmosphere.
We would be particularly excited if you have:
- Have experience successfully integrating commercial teams post-merger.
