We are looking for a Strategic Events Senior Specialist to support planning and execution across our entire portfolio of events. In this role, you will partner closely with the strategic events team, design, product marketing, and sales to create amazing brand experiences while also maximizing sales opportunities and pipeline. 

This role reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Events and can be based anywhere in the US.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Support the entire strategic events portfolio including dbt Labs annual Sales Kickoff, President’s Club, dbt Summit, major 3rd party tradeshows
  • Liaise with internal strategic events team, venues and event agency on space planning process across multiple events as assigned
  • Assist with registration aspects across all events including employee registration approvals and internal comms
  • Support and execute the meeting process and dashboard for sales and partnership teams to book meetings during onsite events
  • Keep internal teams on track and in the know by keeping our internal notion hub and notion event pages up to date with the latest details
  • Update and maintain event kits (ie tradeshow kits, name badge kits) setting the foundation and sharing best practices out to regional marketing teams within the company
  • Manage the event team email alias, communicating directly with attendees and partners regarding all events
  • Work with creative team on design requests and traffic management of projects
  • Support company wide swag initiative including; trends, company requests, updating hub, and managing communications
  • Ability to travel 6-8 times per year for event planning or event execution

It would be great if you have:

  • 4 years of experience in events 
  • Strong capability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset—eager to learn from teammates, experiment with new approaches, and continuously improve how we design and deliver events
  • Genuine enthusiasm for events and a love for handling their unpredictable nature
  • Understanding of what makes an event exceptional, combined with a desire to test new ideas and create memorable experiences when bringing people together

You’ll have an edge if you have experience:

  • Experience in tech industry, particularly in a start-up or scale-up phase
  • Working remotely in an asynchronous environment
  • Event agency experience 
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with teams such as marketing, sales, and design to align events with broader business goals
  • Experience with tools like Notion, google sheets, Asana, Cvent and Hubspot

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and where applicable, performance-based pay. Our Talent Acquisition Team can answer questions around dbt Lab’s total rewards during your interview process. In select locations (including Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Seattle), an alternate range may apply, as specified below.

  • The typical starting salary range for this role is:
    • $90,000 - $109,000 USD
  • The typical starting salary range for this role in the select locations listed is:
    • $100,000 - $121,000 USD
