Want to help us help others? We’re hiring!

GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.

Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for a Revenue Accounting Manager to help us scale the future in a fast-paced environment that's growing rapidly! We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Revenue Accounting Manager to lead and scale our end-to-end revenue accounting function. This role will oversee both transactional and SaaS revenue streams, maintain and apply ASC 606 policy and interpretation, lead revenue audit engagement, and partner cross-functionally to support scalable revenue system design across billing, revenue and ERP systems.

You will operate at the intersection of accounting, systems, and product strategy, translating complex revenue guidance into automated, controlled, and scalable processes that support a high-growth, multi-currency and product environment.

This role is responsible for strengthening revenue infrastructure, maintaining audit readiness, and supporting the continued development of the revenue accounting function.

The Job

  • Oversee accounting and reporting for both transactional and SaaS revenue streams, ensuring accurate, scalable, and GAAP-compliant revenue recognition across complex arrangements.
  • Lead month-end and quarter-end revenue close activities, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, deferred revenue rollforwards, and flux analyses.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for revenue-related audit activities, preparing technical memos and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness and SOX compliance.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to ensure ASC 606 policy is accurately implemented within revenue systems in partnership with the Product, Engineering, Sales Operations and Business Systems teams.
  • Support scalable revenue system design across Zuora Billing, RevPro, Payment Service Providers, and NetSuite, ensuring revenue logic is appropriately reflected in system configuration and data flows.
  • Drive continuous improvement of revenue processes, controls, automation, and reporting.
  • Manage and develop members of the revenue accounting team, providing guidance on complex transactions and technical accounting matters.
  • Support ad hoc analyses and strategic initiatives with data-driven insights that enhance financial decision-making and operational integrity.
This role plays a key part in developing and enhancing the company’s revenue infrastructure to support a growing and evolving business.

You

  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and industry experience with a focus on revenue recognition and systems.
  • Strong experience with SaaS revenue models, including subscription and usage-based arrangements, and application of ASC 606.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring accounting team members.
  • Strong experience with Zuora Billing and/or Zuora RevPro, including oversight of product configuration, billing workflows, revenue rules, and integrations supporting ASC 606–compliant revenue recognition.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP, particularly ASC 606, with the ability to interpret technical guidance and ensure consistent application across revenue streams.
  • Demonstrated ownership of revenue close processes and revenue-related audit activities, including preparation and review of reconciliations, technical memos, and supporting documentation.
  • Experience operating in a SOX-compliant environment and maintaining effective internal controls over revenue.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and system integrations between product platforms, billing systems, and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and project management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Accounting, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Legal.
  • CPA or equivalent required.
