Strategic Alliances & Innovation Lead

New Position Summary
The position is accountable for leading and delivering the full P&L ownership of Pfizer China’s GMP Portfolio, and Contract Sales Organization (CSO) business, projected to generate over $800M+ in revenue in 2026. This role is responsible for strategic portfolio management, building alliance leadership, competitive differentiation, and long-term sustainability.
This role oversees strategic partnerships, commercial innovation, and operational excellence in core therapeutic areas, ensuring business targets for revenue, market share, and profitability are achieved in ONC, Vaccine, I&I and AI. The lead will collaborate closely with third-party partners, internal stakeholders to optimize market execution, drive growth, and ensure supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & P&L Management
- Develop and execute a long-term growth strategy to maximize revenue, market share, and IBT while ensuring business sustainability.
- Build a systematic performance review framework and dashboard tracking (TTD/TTH/IBT) with a marketing, market access and medical strategic approach to drive measurable business outcomes.
- Align with third-party partners on portfolio market strategy, resource allocation, and commercial execution, leveraging the ‘Nike Curve’ growth model to optimize business expansion.
- Foster business innovation through collaborative projects that enhance the brand value of Pfizer’s products and increase patient accessibility.
- Strengthen end-to-end operational governance, ensuring seamless collaboration between supply chain, sales, finance, and compliance to mitigate risks and improve efficiency.
Strategic Partnerships & Alliance Management
- Establish and manage high-value strategic partnerships with third-party partners, optimizing outsourced product portfolios and ensuring strong GTM models.
- Lead CSO deal implementation, governance, and transition management, ensuring smooth execution and performance tracking.
- Build strong relationships with external partners and key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with Pfizer’s business objectives and commercial capability development.
- Oversee deal structuring, contract negotiation, and execution to drive sustainable, win-win partnerships.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams to establish a high-standard monitoring model, ensuring partnerships operate with integrity and business ethics.
Portfolio & Pipeline Acceleration
- Develop portfolio and partner strategies for generic medicine products, ensuring alignment with business priorities and regulatory pathways.
- Drive strategic portfolio planning, evaluating pipeline acceleration opportunities and innovative market-entry pathways.
- Define and execute ONC, I&I, AI CSO/license-out models, overseeing internal evaluation, partner screening, deal negotiation, transition, execution, monitoring, and termination at a company-wide level.
Capability Building & Operational Excellence
- Build and lead a high-performing strategic alliance & CSO team, defining capabilities for commercial excellence and fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Develop and implement customized training programs for third-party partners to enhance business planning, customer engagement, and coaching capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, S&OP, DCM, Finance) to ensure supply continuity and mitigate operational risks.
- Establish risk anticipation and mitigation frameworks, developing response plans for potential business disruptions and emergency scenarios.
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years of senior leadership experience in outsourcing business models, commercial operations.
- Extensive experience in portfolio management, strategic partnerships, and commercial execution in China’s pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong financial acumen, with a deep understanding of P&L optimization, market dynamics, and investment strategies.
- Ability to influence and engage at the executive level, managing high-stakes negotiations and complex business partnerships.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate business risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Fluent in English (written & spoken); strong executive presence and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
