This position is for a Process and Method Engineer (PME) Position supporting Oklahoma City Operations for Special Technologies Coatings.  The successful candidate will be expected to allocate sufficient time on the Production shop floor to identify, update and improve the operating equipment for Coating and Stripping Operations at STC.  This position will coordinate closely with other Process Method Engineers and Software Programmers, along with Third-Party Maintenance Provider to achieve exceptional delivery and quality performance. Furthermore, this position will support the procurement of fixtures, start-up of assets for stripping and coating, and implementation of new capital equipment.  This position is a 1st Shift assignment; however, it will require, intermittent support of 2nd and 3rd shift operations, respectively, when required.  
 

What You Will Do:

  • Rapid troubleshooting and programming of production 6-8 axis robotic arms and CNC Laser drills.

  • Design and analysis of automated systems and sub systems including both hardware and software solutions.

  • Communication with system integrators in East Hartford (EH) or West Palm Beach (WPB) to assist with the continued development and debugging of production systems.

  • Support cost reduction of mature products through improved part processing turn-around-times using automation technology and innovative mistake proofing techniques.

  • Integrate closed loop methodology through sensors and data collection to enable process control and reduce operator intervention.

  • Participation in standard work development for the programming, design, troubleshooting, and development of automated systems.

  • Support the Process Methods Engineering Team with production goals and daily requirements as required.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 to produce reports, brief all engineering related requirements for the STC. 

  • Partner with WPB and EH initiatives to align requirements for OKC STC.

  • Travel may be required less than 30%.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years process or manufacturing engineering experience on gas-turbine engines preferred; Operational experience in an MRO engine facility is a definite plus with the ability to work in cross-functional teams on a wide variety of tasks and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government Security Clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen as only Citizens are able to hold a Security Clearance. Current Clearance will be weighted favorably.

        

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Project Management Certification
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning systems, specifically SAP.
  • Prior military service or a supply chain management background.
  • CORE/ACE Practitioner Certification
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint and Visio.  Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as SAP, Oracle or Infor is a definite plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills with ability to work collaboratively with others who may have differing agendas are essential.
  • Experience in high temperature plasma spray coating operations, coating development or related engineering is a plus.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated adaptability competency and ability to operate efficiently in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
  • Working knowledge of robotic systems, water-jet systems, vision systems, peripheral sensors, and their construction.
  • Knowledge of aerospace coating, laser, waterjet, grit blast and deburring applications
  • Experience and proficiency with CNC programming and with offline programming. (Robot Studio, RoboGuide, Octopus, NX, Master Cam)
  • Proficiency with more than one robotic arm, ABB, Yaskawa, FANUC, KUKA, etc.
  • Integration experience with automated systems and their design.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and deliver results while working in a dynamic environment.
  • Seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase quality and efficiency through the development and usage of new or improved project mgmt. tools, digital solutions, process documentation, or technology. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities.
  • Ability to work from data such as solid models, part, and tool drawings.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to thrive and adapt to advancements in technology.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • You may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
