The Opportunity
As part of the State and Local Tax team you are expected to lead the way as a technology-enabled tax advisor, providing benefits through digitization, automation, and increased efficiencies. As a Director you are responsible for setting the strategic direction, leading business development efforts, and overseeing multiple projects while maintaining impactful executive-level client relations. You play a crucial role in driving business growth, shaping client engagements, and mentoring the future leaders, while upholding PwC's reputation for quality, integrity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate the strategic vision for the State and Local Tax team
- Drive business growth through innovative tax advisory solutions
- Oversee multiple projects maintaining top-quality client deliverables
- Foster executive-level client relationships and satisfaction
- Mentor and develop the future leaders of tax
- Promote digitization and automation to enhance efficiencies
- Uphold PwC's standards of quality, integrity, and inclusion
- Collaborate across the PwC network to leverage collective knowledge
What You Must Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 6 years of experience
- CPA, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity
- A Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation field of study will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
What Sets You Apart
- Juris Doctorate in Taxation preferred
- Broad knowledge of state and local tax sales and use tax laws
- Proficiency in FAS 5 and reverse audits
- Leading teams to generate a vision and establish direction
- Developing and sustaining client relationships
- Identifying and addressing client needs
- Experience with automation and digitization in professional services
- Evaluating and negotiating new and existing contracts
- Leveraging pricing tools to contribute to pricing strategies

The salary range for this position is: $150,000 - $438,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. All hired individuals are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
