SUMMARY
Reporting to the Project Guardian Project Manager, the Staff/Senior Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in managing and executing large capital projects at the Elmore, OH facility. The role emphasizes power distribution system design, implementation, and maintenance, alongside integration and support of control systems to ensure reliable and efficient plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Capital Project Management
Lead the design, planning, and execution of power distribution systems for large capital projects, ensuring compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and business goals.
Project Leadership
Act as the Electrical Project Lead, developing project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Power Distribution Expertise
Design and specify medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers (MCCs), and protective relaying systems.
Controls Integration
Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate power distribution equipment and protective relays with PLCs, HMIs, DCSs, and SCADA systems for monitoring and control.
Provide technical input on control system architecture related to power distribution.
Technical Oversight
Prepare technical specifications, review vendor proposals, and recommend equipment and system designs that optimize reliability, maintainability, and safety.
Field Support and Troubleshooting
Oversee installation and commissioning of power distribution and control systems.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support to resolve electrical and control system issues.
Standards and Compliance
Develop and maintain electrical design standards, procedures, arc flash studies, and documentation to ensure consistent application and regulatory compliance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with production, maintenance, EH&S, and external contractors to align project execution with operational requirements and safety protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
PMP certification.
Experience
Required:
Proven experience managing capital projects with a strong emphasis on power distribution systems in an industrial setting.
In-depth knowledge of medium and low voltage power distribution design, protective relays, switchgear, transformers, and MCCs.
Familiarity with industrial control systems, including PLC programming and HMI development.
Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under deadlines.
Preferred:
Experience with Rockwell, DeltaV, and GE PLC platforms, and Wonderware HMIs.
Large project experience (>$20M).
Experience in heavy manufacturing industries such as glass, metals, and chemicals.

Required:
Expertise in power distribution system design and implementation.
Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
Proficient in preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical and control system issues.
Excellent communication and leadership skills to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Familiarity with control system integration and architecture.
Commitment to Environmental, Health & Safety best practices.
Familiarity with Arc Flash studies and electrical safety program development.
Preferred:
Experience with energy efficiency technologies and plant performance optimization.
Familiarity with advanced project management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMP certification).
