Purpose Statement: To plan and manage highly complex engineering projects for PLXS-ENG customers as well as responsible for coaching, mentoring, project oversight of other project managers, and continuous process improvement.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Process Improvement - Assists the DPM by providing PM team leadership to positively affect the quality and consistency of the PM job process.
  • Manages projects to successful financial execution with the goal of 100% conversion.  Utilizes Plexus business systems to accurately project revenue for both active projects and opportunities.
  • Effectively manages the team resources and leads the program to a successful execution.  This includes partnering with the engineering team to identify solutions to meet the customer's needs. It is also important to partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and third party suppliers to ensure Plexus’ design are successfully introduced into Plexus Manufacturing Solutions sites.  Responsible for developing future Plexus leaders.
  • Work-sharing Support - Accountable for proactively identifying work packages or opportunities that should be work shared.  Supports FM efforts to work share.  All while enforcing the need to staff your project for success and supporting the growth of our engineering teams’ capabilities.
  • Oversees and manages customers’ expectations regarding all aspects of large and complex projects.  This includes oversight of other project managers and overall program ownership. Expectations shall also be managed regarding what our deliverables will be and when they will be delivered, including any changes to the original proposal.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required with 10 or more years of related experience preferred.

  • Intermediate Computer Skills
  • Intermediate Decision making, Problem Solving Skills
  • Intermediate Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Possesses a broad, general understanding and fluency in terminology of the primary Plexus engineering disciplines (e.g. analog, digital, mechanical, software, PCB, FCT, ICT, DFX)
  • Possess a detailed understanding of the product development and product realization processes
  • Possess good project management skills and knowledge of management principles
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
  • Possess strong team building and team leadership skills
  • Possess strong organizational, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to handle demanding schedules including travel to customer sites
  • Possess conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • General office equipment and materials
