The Role
Agilent is looking for a highly motivated Product Development Engineer to operate at the enterprise level within the Systems Solutions Center of Excellence. This role combines hands-on systems engineering with cross-business enablement, acting as a technical integrator, enterprise reviewer, and catalyst for innovation across Agilent product lines.
Key Responsibilities
Product Lifecycle Enablement
Contribute to acceleration of the Product Lifecycle (PLC) by applying and reinforcing enterprise systems engineering best practices across business units.
Partner with engineering teams and leaders within each business unit to understand product strategies, development challenges, and execution bottlenecks.
Support adoption of standardized lifecycle frameworks, requirements practices, and V&V approaches while preserving necessary product-specific flexibility.
Enterprise Systems & Architecture Support
Act as an enterprise systems engineer, participating in architectural reviews and design decisions across product lines.
Support modular architecture adoption through requirements reuse, interface definition, and verification evidence leverage.
Assist in analyzing existing architectures and modules to identify reuse, simplification, or redesign opportunities that improve quality, reduce cost, and ease design transfer to manufacturing.
Innovation & AI-enabled Engineering Practices
Collaborate with engineering and digital teams to pilot AI-enabled process improvements across product development (e.g., requirements reuse, V&V evidence mining, design insights).
Help ignite innovation by sharing best practices, emerging technologies, and systems thinking across engineering communities.
Education
Bachelor of Science in engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in systems, product, or architecture engineering roles within complex product development environments.
Demonstrated experience applying systems engineering principles across multiple product domains.
Exposure to enterprise or cross-program architecture reviews is a plus.
Skills & Competencies
Strong systems thinking and problem-solving capability.
Ability to collaborate and influence without direct authority.
Technical credibility with hardware, software, and systems teams.
Communication skills enabling effective engagement with engineers and leaders.
Curiosity and openness to applying AI and automation to engineering workflows.
Additional Details
This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least May 13, 2026 or until the job is no longer posted.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $143,760.00 - $269,550.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
