Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Engineer Electronics – Mission Data Processing Lead, to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL and will be based within our office spaces to support the program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule means you will get every other Friday off. This position has NO Hybrid or Remote work available.
Selected Candidate must possess in-depth knowledge of computers and electronics for mission processing and data storage and experience in the definition, design, integration, test, and certification of related hardware and software requirements and will be responsible for one or more of the following; Interpret, allocate, tailor, write and flow down requirements to all levels of a system architecture, Design and develop computer, network and system models and architectures, perform hardware integration and testing, and requirements analysis and collaborate with Integrated Product Teams, and Conduct Trade studies, documenting subsystem architectures, analyzing performance, and evaluating Technology Readiness Level (TRL) regarding supplier current and future products offerings
Roles and Responsibilities will include:
Document designs using detailed schematics, diagrams and specifications
Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders to integrate mission management subsystems to meet platform mission objectives
Technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including development, acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support
Developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
Building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
Review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Work with the planning team to create conceptual data models and data flows
Assist leadership with task prioritization and task delegation to meet overall program goals and objectives
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. (STEM) AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools
Experience in supplier/subcontract management
Experience with developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and experience in conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design review
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Top-Secret clearance, and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering in Cameo or similar tools
Familiarity with network, commercial cloud, platform infrastructures and containerized software architecture
Familiarity with Digital Engineering processes and environments
Knowledge and experience with the definition of MOSA – Modular Open Systems Approach, and interfaces definition, development, and control
Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
