Boston Dynamic's Spot Electrical Engineering Team is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to continually advance our cutting edge quadruped mobile robot platform. In this role, you'll perform a mix of electrical system prototyping, from scratch circuit board/system design, design iteration, and support. The ideal candidate will possess a broad electrical engineering background, be experienced in new product development, and enjoy being challenged by a dynamic set of projects. How you will make an impact:
Contribute to new product development within the Spot ecosystem
Develop (document, design, simulate, test, support) digital, power, and/or mixed signal circuit boards
Oversee printed circuit board (PCB) CAD layout and routing
Triage, troubleshoot, and diagnose robot electrical failures to root cause
Author technical documentation such as specifications, schematics, test plans, and reports
Lead development of robot subsystems from concept through volume manufacturing, as required
Collaborate with engineering, operations, manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and test teams
Lead and participate in design reviews
Author Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
Contribute to continuous improvement activities such as authoring process documentation
We are looking for:
At least a BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or closely related field
5+ years of directly related work experience
Strong electrical engineering fundamentals spanning a range of competencies (e.g. digital, power, analog, RF)
Embedded computing and/or robotics systems knowledge
Demonstrated ability to debug to root cause complex electrical issues
Experience with schematic capture and eCAD software (Altium preferred)
Familiarity with PLM software (e.g. Arena)
Basic Linux skills
Nice to have:
Knowledge of functional safety concepts and how they apply to robotics
Experience simulating high-speed serial data links (e.g. PCIe, 10GigE, etc.)
Software/firmware development skills in C/C++, Python, Verilog/VHDL, and/or LabView

The base pay range for this position is between $116,479 to $160,158 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.
