The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to:
Revenue Daily Audit Full cycle:
- Audit of Daily Control report, ensuring accuracy and make corrections if needed.
- Audit of the promo sheet for accuracy, make corrections and communicate with the night audit team.
- Audit daily events, posting accuracy of all Banquet functions.
- Ensure the accuracy of daily revenue posting to the Accounting system.
- Verify & Reconcile Group & Transient Tax Exemptions.
Accounts Receivable
- Set up House Accounts and A/R Accounts as needed or directed by management.
- Ensure all Group and Direct Bill accounts are accurate and mailed within three business days.
- Make collection calls on outstanding accounts to ensure all amounts are collected within 60 days.
- Complete credit references for Direct Bill accounts requesting credit.
- Coordinate with Sales & Marketing/F&B/Banquets to ensure accuracy of accounts.
- Responsible to respond and resolve all chargebacks as they occur.
Regular on-going duties:
- Ensure that the Accounting Department is delivering excellent, reliable, and quick service to our guests and colleagues.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed in order to complete all tasks before the deadline. Weekend work will be required when closing the month. Must be available to work the first and last day of each month.
- Contribute to the successful completion of internal and external financial audits, including delivering information and schedules requested by auditors on a timely basis.
- Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Month-end responsibility:
- Assist with end-of-month Inventory Counts – Food, Beverage & Retail.
- Prepare End of Month AR reporting.
- Prepare End of Month Tax Exemption reporting.
- Assist with End of Month Journal Entries.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- At least 1 to 2 years of hotel accounting experience in a similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Be proactive and possess a sense of urgency.
Work Environment
- Most of the work takes place indoors in an office environment.
Physical Demands
- The person in this role may be exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly.
- The person in this role may be carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 50lbs and pushing and/or pulling approximately 200lbs.
- The person in this role will be frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the hotel.
Expected Hours of Work
- Must be flexible to work variable days of the week to include weekends and holidays.
- Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).
- Ten to twelve-hour shifts are sometimes required.
