About Marsh McLennan

Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) is a global leader in risk, strategy, and people - advising clients in over 130 countries. With approximately 85,000 colleagues worldwide and annual revenue exceeding $23 billion, Marsh McLennan operates through four market-leading businesses:

  • Marsh - Commercial insurance broking and risk management

  • Guy Carpenter - Reinsurance broking and strategic advisory

  • Mercer - Health, wealth, and career consulting

  • Oliver Wyman - Management consulting and strategy advisory

Together, these businesses help organizations navigate an increasingly dynamic and complex environment.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Regional Controller - MENA to join our finance leadership team in Dubai. This role is central to the controllership function supporting our consulting businesses - Oliver Wyman and Mercer - across the MENA region.

Oliver Wyman has grown exponentially in the region, with its footprint now rivalling that of Marsh, driven by acquisitions and expansion into new country markets. Mercer is similarly scaling through acquisitions and broadening its regional presence. This growth creates an exciting, high-impact opportunity for a senior finance professional to shape and strengthen the financial control framework across a rapidly expanding portfolio.

You will serve as a key finance partner to senior leadership, working closely with partners, business heads, and regional stakeholders to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and commercial insight across a complex, multi-entity, multi-country operation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Controllership & Reporting

  • Lead the regional controllership function for the consulting line of business (Oliver Wyman and Mercer) across MENA

  • Manage monthly close processes, financial consolidation, and group reporting in line with global timelines and standards

  • Oversee statutory reporting, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple entities and jurisdictions

Revenue Recognition

  • Drive revenue recognition for consulting and project-based engagements, including WIP management, percentage of completion, and IFRS 15 compliance

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of revenue reporting across the portfolio

Tax Compliance & Advisory

  • Oversee regional tax compliance, with a focus on VAT and corporate tax in the Middle East

  • Support transfer pricing requirements and liaise with group tax functions as needed

  • Stay current with evolving tax regulations across MENA markets

Governance, Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls and governance frameworks appropriate for a $25B+ global organization

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, IFRS, and group policies

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to senior leaders, partners, and firm leadership at Oliver Wyman and Mercer

  • Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Business Growth & Expansion

  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and new country set-ups as the consulting businesses continue to expand across the region

  • Play an active role in building the financial infrastructure needed to support growth

What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Professional accounting qualification - ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent

  • 10-16 years of progressive experience in finance, with a strong controllership focus

Experience & Expertise

  • Proven controllership experience within a large multinational matrix organization

  • Strong revenue recognition expertise, ideally in consulting, professional services, or project-based business models

  • Tax knowledge relevant to the Middle East - particularly VAT and corporate tax

  • Solid working knowledge of IFRS

  • Experience managing finance operations across multiple countries and legal entities

  • Demonstrated ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders, including partners and business leaders

Personal Attributes

  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insight

  • Strong communicator who can build trust with senior leadership

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Collaborative approach with a track record of working across functions and geographies

Nice to Have

  • Background in management consulting or professional services

  • Big 4 experience in an advisory or consulting capacity (not limited to audit)

  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or HFM/Hyperion

  • Multi-entity regional experience across MENA markets

What We Offer

  • A senior finance role at the heart of one of the world's largest and most respected professional services firms

  • Exposure to two of MMC's highest-growth businesses in the region - Oliver Wyman and Mercer

  • The opportunity to shape financial operations during a period of significant regional expansion

  • A collaborative, high-calibre team within a truly global organization

  • Competitive compensation and benefits package

  • Career development within a $25B+ global enterprise with four world-class businesses
