We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to join the team in Greensboro, NC! As a valued member of the Accounting Operations Shared Services team, you will be responsible for reconciling bank statements, analyzing financial transactions, resolve discrepancies and supporting month-end close. This position will report directly to the AVP of Disbursements and will be an integral part of the accounting operations team at Arch supporting the bank reconciliation processes.
This role will sit in the Greensboro, NC office on a hybrid schedule with two days in the office, three days remote.
Job Responsibilities
Reconcile monthly bank statements
Identify and resolve discrepancies and unusual transactions
Review deposits, withdrawals, ACH transfers, and wire activity
Post journal entries and support general ledger accuracy
Prepare reconciliation reports and assist with audits
Support month-end and year-end closing tasks
Assist shared service general accountants both in general ledger and accounts payable to answer questions, address issues, and identify areas of process improvement
Assist in documenting business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Assist testing and training of new enhancements related to accounting software
Required Skills/Experience
3-5 years of accounting experience in the field
Strong knowledge in maintaining general ledgers and account analysis
Experience in preparing bank reconciliations
Strong understanding of activities in the accounts payable function and cash processes
Knowledge in SOX and internal controls compliance
Desired Skills/Experience
Experience with Workday accounting software package
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Moderate to advanced Excel skills including Vlookup and pivot tables
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and to manage priorities of work, maintaining required production levels
Strong analytical, problem solving, and strategic thinking skills
Experience with global shared services functions is highly beneficial
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
